Sporadic brawls broke out in Leipzig a couple weeks ago, as police attempted to disperse thousands of coronavirus deniers and patriots who marched through the city. Members of the ‘Querdenken‘ (‘Lateral Thinkers’) group and other coronavirus sceptics were seen throwing bottles and other projectiles at the task forces.
Several protesters were detained during the clashes near the main train station, while several officers were reported injured. An estimated 20,000 people joined the demonstration planned by the ‘Querdenken‘ group to demonstrate against the new lockdown.
